The George Washington Carver Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, which provides grants to students who attend historically black colleges or universities and major in an area of business, math, science or technology. Our purpose is to assist students in receiving the technology and skills they need to help make a better society. Our mission is to produce LEADERS rather than followers.
The scholarship fund awards grants annually to students who major in one or more of the following areas: ACCOUNTING, AGRI-BUSINESS, AQUACULTURE SCIENCE, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, BUSINESS, CHEMISTRY, COMMUNICATION, COMPUTER SCIENCE, ECONOMICS, ENGINEERING, LAW, MATHEMATICS, MEDICINE, NURSING, POLITICAL SCIENCE, PRE-LAW, PRE-MED, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION. These grants, unlike a loan, do not have to be repaid. Grants are not based solely on grade point average, or scores on college entrance exams, however, these factors are considered. Successful applicants will be able to identify themselves as leaders in their communities and will have completed at least 40 hours of volunteer work. Applicants must attend an historically black college or university (HBCU) and have documentation of financial need (complete financial aid/status form in application).
