Each year, Jeannette Rankin Fund awards scholarships to low-income women, ages 35 and older, who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing an undergraduate education at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Qualifications

Open to women, age 35 years or older , U. S. citizens, enrolled in an accredited school or accepted at one, be pursuing a technical/vocational education, as associate's degree or a first bachelor's degree. Only students whose income falls within the guidelines may apply. See the website. Awards may be used for tuition, books, supplies, transportation, childcare, or other expenses. In addition to need, these factors are considered during selection: realistic goals and the potential to accomplish these goals, individual courage in dealing with difficult situations, the letters of recommendation and the personal statement.
